one of my guppies began looking pregnant about a week ago. I put her in the spawning tank, but after days of seemingly endless waiting, nothing happened. Then on the 4th morning I noticed her swimming around with a long white string hanging out of her. Immediately suspecting a worm, I administered fresh garlic mashed with food as that had worked before with other fish I've had. I noticed string after string began to come out, and finally this morning I noticed her zipping around the tank acting normal. She's been eating algae like crazy off the substrate and structure, and also been pooping like crazy, but at least it's normal in color and coming out in short strands. Can anybody explain this? Is it safe to move her back into the community tank?
