I would say that the source of the noise is the pump as it is a loud vibration. I can her the gurgling of the bubbles, but that isnt too loud.

How long should you leave them on for? Mine is so noisy I cannot leave it on when we are in the lounge!!! Was thinking about putting it on a timer to run in the afternoon and then from about 11pm all night till about 8 am. Any advice welcome Cheers Mark
