i just ordered a tiger lotus and received a bulb. do i just stick it in the gravel? it's very small about the size of my thumb nail around.

Does a sponge prefilter on an intake tube do the same thing as a regular sponge filter with airstone?

it is just 12 cardinal tetra and 2 oto cats right now. i'm getting discus next weekend. it's a 60 gallon. the scales are not sticking out.. i think it's just fat..

i have 10 cardinal tetras and 3 of them are very round and big in the breast area.. are they sick? or do they look like this when they are pregnant? there fins are all fine and there appetite is good and they are all schooling normally..

i have a 55 gallon aquarium and i purchased a "48 inch double linear strip T5 fluorescent lamp, with: a 28 watt colourmax full-spectrum T5 and a 28 watt 6700K plant lamp T5" is this sufficient to grow my plants?:n00b:

plus i just can't wait to take all the fake plants out and admire my more natural/healthy looking aquarium! i'm so excited to watch everything grow in together! any more advice for the begginer, here?

do you think it would be ok if i plugged my co2 diffuser into my timer for my lights? or should it be on all the time?

i'm planning on adding plants to my aquarium.. can someone explain the whole co2 thing to me? i've tried looking it up and many different types of diffusers pop up, sure they look cool but what about the part outside of the aquarium? what are you putting in the water exactly?
