    10gal planted

I think 50w is going to be way too much for a tank that size, do you want to go hi tech with Co2 and ferts, or low tecg with no Co2 and you don't really need to dose ferts?

How to do this whole EI Dosing stuff?

Hi guys I heard about the ei dosing method and everyone who does it has had good results, I've heard it also works out a lot cheaper than the Seachem products that I'm using at the moment. I've got my 15 gallon fully planted aquarium, newly redone the right way with some ADA Amazonia soil. I...

How can I get all red cherry shrimp out of my tank

So I'm planning on turning my current 16 gallon fully planted aquarium into a red rili shrimp only tank, right now there are cherry shrimp in the tank and I know that if the two shrimp are housed together they will interbreed. How can I get all the cherry shrimp out and make sure it's good for...

DIY CO2: Tell me about it

The Excel is good to use and theres nothing wrong with it but you won't get the same levels of CO2 in the water, if you had to use the diy co2 it is far more concentrated and does wonders for your plants. Using the DIY CO2, the amount of sugar available to break down by the yeast after a week...

DIY CO2: Tell me about it

I use DIY CO2 and it's great, I'd only recommend it for smaller tanks though. There are a few problems though, temperature changes cause fluctuations in CO2 production which may lead to an algae outbreak. I'd recommend dosing the excel with the DIY CO2 to make sure that there's constantly CO2 in...

Beard algae, I shouldn't have done that...

You should go get yourself a bottle of Seachem Excel, its liquid CO2 and it should kill off the BBA. I had it in my 16 gallon planted tank and now I dose the excel and diy CO2, the BBA will go from black to a pink colour before it dies, then it will simply fall off anf your fish will chow down...

    Yellow brown coloured water

Hey I recently replaced the substrate in my 16 gallon planted aquarium, I put a layer of peat and some other special plant growth fertile substrate. This is all covered by a nice thick layer of black onyx sand. Since I did all this the water has been stained yellow-brown and doesn't look so hot...

16 gallon planted aquarium need some advice

The tank has been running for easily over a year, I haven't had any sickness or disease in this tank what so ever. I think I got the rummynose tetras about 2 months ago and they are doing great, they've got brilliant colouring

16 gallon planted aquarium need some advice

I dose flourish excel and diy co2 so as to prevent the co2 fluctuations, I also run an airstone when the lights are off.
