    Carbon Rili & guppies

First hand experience would be nice if possible. However, I'm having a difficult time finding any info on carbon rili's period. I can find out where to buy them, but that's about it. I knew that ghost shrimps work well with guppies, but I wasn't sure if ghost shrimps are more docile. and i...

    Carbon Rili & guppies

I am actually unsure of how big they grow too. I want to say the shrimps are smaller... but I'll have to research that. Thanks :)

    Carbon Rili & guppies

Carbon Rili's are a shrimp. I did my research on the guppies and they mostly eat their own fray which controls the population. the size of the tank is fine for five guppies. will the shrimps and guppies get along?

    Carbon Rili & guppies

I have a 10 gallon heavily planted tank with lots of airstones, a little tunnel like thing, and a sand substrate. there are 5 guppies in it at this time. My husband wants to add some Carbon Rili's to it. will the carbon rilis and the guppies cohabitate well together?

    filtration

gosh, I've got 6 plants in there plus a moss ball. they don't like eat the plants, but sometimes they'll go and like, taste them...mostly they just rub against them. can any of the plants sold for aquariums in petco or petsmart hurt my fish?

    filtration

it's a flexible cap for sure. I have live plants in with them now and they only seem to nibble on broken off pieces. is that bad?

    filtration

I love the look of the fluval ones a lot! does it do well with aquarium sand? my gold colored goldfish seems to enjoy rubbing against the sand (sometimes) so i don't want to change the substrate. Note: I'm moving all the belongings from the aquarium they're in now to the 55 gallon. they really...

    filtration

Does anyone know about the FilStar XP3 canister filter? It technically filters twice the size of the tank I'm going to purchase, but as goldfish are so dirty maybe that's a good thing? and, would that mean I could stick with just one filter, or should I have an additional filter with my fancy...

I don't know anything about customizing media for fancy goldfish (or any fish for that matter.) How would that be done?

    filtration

they are definitely fancy gold fish. both have two tails. one is a golden orange and the other a calico color <3 My husband wants to get one that is half orange, half white.. I agree with the fact that the tetra ex70 will probably be the right choice for me, but, that being said, I am not...

    filtration

it will be two fancy gold fish maybe three, in a 55 gallon tank :) Is that overstocked? if so, we can just stick with the two.

    filtration

the ex 70 sounds really easy and I haven't used a canister filter before, I don't even know what the aqua clear series is to be truthful. is it a brand? and i'll have to look, is the MarineLand Biowheel 350 a canister filter? I'm so confuse. who knew goldfish could be so confusing to take care...

    filtration

It would be great if it costs about a hundred or less, and no more than $20ish a month to maintain. thanks for the question! totally forgot to add that  To be honest, I don't know what is reasonable or what to expect to pay so I'm open to suggestions.....

    filtration

I am upgrading to a 55 gallon tank for my two baby fancy goldfish this Sunday, I need to get a filter that'll work for a long time to go with the aquarium. I know that goldfish produce a lot of waste, and I want to find one that'll last for many years if possible. tia for your advice :fish2...

    goldfish

right now they have one tetra whisper internal power filter, and I plan to get them one more when I get the 55 gallon aquarium. is that sufficient? they have sand not gravel, I vacuum the sand about twice a week, sometimes three times if it looks dirty. :ermm: right now one of the goldfish is...

    goldfish

I have two fancy goldfish and I'm going to get them a 55 gallon tank this Sunday. is it a good idea to add another goldfish or is that more an appropriate size for just the two, to grow and live comfortably? thanks Note: I'll be adding all of their belongings from the ten gallon their in now...

    Upgrading fish tanks

I was thinking of only keeping the two fancy goldfish. I read that they grow to be 8 inches long. I'm hoping in a 55 gallon long they can reach their full size, and be comfortable. and thanks, I didn't think that if I simply moved everything over it would be instantly cycled but I will totally...

    Upgrading fish tanks

Thanks for the advice about the filter, i will certainly do that.. as far as the water, would it add ammonia if I added the other water a little at a time, or should I use something else to add the ammonia to help it cycle? :ermm:

    Upgrading fish tanks

I have a 10 gallon tank with two baby fancy goldfish in it. I want to upgrade to a 55 gallon long at the end of the month and I was wondering, while the new one is cycling, would it be beneficial in any way to use the water from my 10 gallon tank change, and put it in the new tank? thanks :)...

    cleaning sand with ghost shrimps.

I have a 10 gallon tank with six guppies and 5 ghost shrimps. it has a filter, 15 live plants planted along the back, a half tube type thing in the middle with plants growing off of it as well, a rock with an arch in the corner, and a water heater. My question is, how do I vacuum the sand...
