    Good luck with them!

    Disabled but full of life!

My local mom & pop fish store appealed to my bleeding heart and talked me into adopting a disabled Sun Catfish (they told me it was a mystus till I got home and did more research). He's missing all his fins, except his tail, but has still survived for almost a month now without them. At the...

    Red spots on peppered cories

Poor babies! It looks like ammonia poisoning. And with it being overstocked it's a good chance the ammonia has spiked up even with water changes. I would suggest at least buying a cheap 5-10 gallon to transfer them to until you can get them a bigger tank. Just long enough to try and get that...

    Normal or not

I know as my peppered cory grew his coloring changed a lot. If your corys are not fully mature the white may just be a part of their juvenile coloration. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Diagnosis please of infected catfish

It almost looks like velvet disease. Which is parasitic. Another possibility is body fungus. Most major pet stores carry treatments for both. May want to invest in a larger filter if the tank is 30-40 gals. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Murderer or crazy illness?

Been searching around...can't seem to find any kind of parasite that would burrow out of my platy. It's just so strange...the intestines weren't even damaged, just pulled out like a piece of spaghetti. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Murderer or crazy illness?

All my red wag platies seemed fine last night. They all ate and went about their business of ignoring the mollies and bottom feeders. I went to feed them this morning and one if my red wags was laying under the plants with his intestines pulled out of a small hole in his side. His intestines...

    Help me catch this early!

Sudden changes in water temp can do it. My Betta, Orion, had his heater malfunction and the tank was almost 90 degrees! I took the heater out and within two days his poor fins started fraying and falling off. I medicated him and he's doing much better now. As for your killies temp, I've read...

    Missing molly and surprise babies

Sadly, since I found the fry before work I didn't have time to isolate them from the others...BUT it's been almost a week and I'll occasionally see one or two fry holding their own and eating away from the others. They're good at being sneaky, in the blink of an eye they're off and hidden again...

    Funny behavior

My dalmatian lyretail did that when I added my silver lyretail for the first half day. The silver didn't seem bothered and by the end of the day the dalmatian lyre was following the silver one like a lost puppy. I found this interesting since my dal. lyretail was the dominant fish in the tank...

    Missing molly and surprise babies

My smallest Dalmatian Molly went missing two days ago (leaving me with one dalmatian, one lyretail, one bbb catfish, 2 algae eaters, and 3 cory). I checked the filter and wiggled all the plants...no molly. I added another silver lyretail molly yesterday(which my current lyretail fell in love...

    New to adopting fish

Hello! My name is Summer and I've just recently aquired and currently in the process of stocking three tanks! This is my first time being a fish-mom and I couldn't be more excited. I loooove my betta, he has the biggest personality! He's a diva so it's just him and Little Twitch the cory in my 5...
