    Complete Rescape - stocking ideas?

I rescaped my 36 gallon bowfront after moving the neons that were there into my 29 gallon planted RCS tank. So besides a few RCS, it’s empty of stock. Any ideas? My thoughts are some Cories, rummy nose tetras, danios, and a centerpiece fish of some sort. Other thoughts are several pea puffers...

Guppies laying at bottom of tank!?? Sick? Asleep? Help!!

If you need a cycled filter quickly, I can recommend Angelsplus.com. I’ve moved many times with the military and always end up starting over with their seeded filters.

    Effects of Preventative Quarantining

I love the thoroughness of your quarantine routine. I wasn’t aware we could dose all three meds at once. That will save me some time in the future. Thanks.

    Protein Build Up

King Fisher is giving good advice. Another benefit of running both filters is that if you use the 10 gallon as a quarantine/hospital tank with new fish, all you need to do is move the 10 gal. filter over and you’re instantly cycled.

2.5 Gallon Planted Nano: Betta, Shrimp, or AFD?

Betta are usually happier with more space. I frequently hear that 5 -10 are a minimum for a Betta. That’s a great size to heavily plant and raise a colony of shrimp. Red Cherry Shrimp (called RCS on here) are relatively inexpensive and hardy. You could make a beautiful tank with them. I assume...

Thanks King Fisher and Laurie! I’m excited for it.

    ID white dots please....

Do you have nerite snails by any chance? Mine left eggs all over the wood, but they don’t hatch.

    Moving!

My understanding is that a tank needs to be completely empty when moving it. So no rock or sand even. As mentioned, lots of buckets.

    What more to add

I don’t have any idea but I’d sure like to see a pic of the aquarium. Sounds beautiful.

    FishyMamma’s 36gal. raffle build

Hey all, I won the raffle at today’s aquarium goods auction! So now I have a 36gal. to set up, too! Fortunately it comes complete with everything but the fish. So I’ll have it up and running soon.

    Plant ID

I’m at an Aquarium Auction and got a big bag of this for $9. Looks like it could float or be planted. What the heck is it? :)

Crazy idea for my new 130gallon

Cool. Thanks. I’m thinking I have enough room for a few rams, angelfish, Cories, neons, Tetras and swordtails.

Crazy idea for my new 130gallon

Ooo, color choices! I had no idea there were color choices. That’s really interesting. It may be a good idea for me to plan my stock list and choose a blasting sand color that would bring out the fish colors.

    FishyMamma’s 130g tank build

Thanks guys. My family doesn’t share my enthusiasm so I have to get it from outside, lol. I’m going to an aquarium society auction on Sunday. Hope to pick up another filter and some heaters for not much. I’m currently thinking of a minimalist tank. Pool sand on the bottom with driftwood...

Crazy idea for my new 130gallon

Great idea about the sand substrate. That would look nicer. And thanks for the great list of plants! That was super-helpful. I’m going to an aquarium society auction this Sunday so hopefully I can get the hardware I need and start setting up with these plants soon!

Crazy idea for my new 130gallon

I have a new-to-me 130gallon tank. It needs everything so it’s a little expensive right now. I’m thinking I could save money and still provide plants for my future fishies by not putting in any substrate. If I put in driftwood, Marino (sp.?) balls, and lots of pothos anchored underneath, as...

Please Help—I’m Truly At A Loss

Having a planted tank has helped me a lot. I’ve heard that pothos, which I also have, is particularly good at reducing nitrates. It can suck up a lot of nutrients as well, so balance that with what else is planted in your tank. Pothos does not need to be planted, by the way. Just take...

    Pregnant or sick?

This is the last of three Julii Cories I introduced to my 30gal. aquarium a coupe of months ago. I’ve been planning on getting him/her some friends since but haven’t made the trip. I know they should be in groups of 5-6 minimum. I never figured out why the other Cories didn’t make it. I...

Is this enough filtration for 130gallons?

Good idea. I do have an extra large HOB filter I could easily add.

    FishyMamma’s 130g tank build

New-to-me canister filter. Marineland C-530. I think I’ll need a second filter. This one alone is rated 100-150g. But I’ve heard I need double the marked filtration.
