It depends on where you get it from. If you get it from a place that gets it ready for you (most do) then just rinsing and a boil will be good. I get mine from petco and Amazon and I rinse several times then boil it for 30-60 mins(at a rolling boil) let it cool then put it in my tank the same...
It is really worth it, I am starting another tank and I chose silver Molly's to cycle it. I have a 55g with Molly's and tetras so I will just put them in there when I'm done:D for your driftwood it's really cool I love it but make sure to rinse in really good in warm to hot water. I usually boil...

Try buying a new level from Wal-Mart or a hardware store a small one will do an they cost 2 dollars here. Also measure the legs on the stand on both sides. If they are the same then it must be your floor? I had the same problem but it was my floor that was unlevel so I lifted until it was level...
I built my 55 out of 2x4s 2x2s and a piece of quarter inch plywood. It was cheap and easy. I don't have a picture but I can take one if you want. I have a picture of my 40gal stand I built. I needed space for my dvds in the living room and all I used was some 2x4s and some 1x4s for trim. It was...
