55g. 8g. pwc every week, sometimes every other week if we're homebound.

I was lucky enough to get a nice fat mandarin that was already eating frozen. Although my tank is a year and a half old, I still waited to find one that was happy to eat frozen as well. I wanted that 'safety net' for this guy. I've had him a month and he's doing great!

I have been using a turkey baster. One turkey baster of water out, one turkey baster of water from my tank in. I have been doing this for an hour and a half, three times so far. How many hours should I do this to insure a safe acclimation?

They should be fine. They seem to be sensitive to changes, so give them atleast another day or two before dismissing them. I once got some bad advice from the LFS to add some chemicle to my tank (BIG no no). The pulsing xenias looked as though they were dieing for nearly a week, then came back...

I have a small cluster of button polyps that although they are spreading slowly, have lost most of the 'hair' like edges. One has turned inside out-like and looks more like a round ball, than what it's supposed to. ANy ideas? Thanks.

I just added a pistol shrimp last week for my watchman goby. Pretty bad when you buy pets for your pets. So far he has not bonded with said goby. This gives me hope. Thanks!

I HIGHLY reccommend the Aqua C Remora Pro. Quiet, easy, and not too big. What size tank are you looking at? That has to be considered as well when narrowing down your choices.

HHMMM. My two peppermints are very well behaved. I have a nice xenia and other varius softies and have never had them nibble. Sorry to hear you're having troubles, though. Just toss something in there that will eat the peps and you can witness the whole foodchain.

tang I have had mine for nearly three months now and she's never touched the macro. She eats seaweed and occassionally I'll drop in a piece of romain lettuce on the clip. HTH

"Spike" the pencil urchin and Mr. oyster (kids can't come up with a name yet) are both doing well in their new home. This SW aquarium has provided a great deal of serenity to our medically stressful home. So glad to have discovered aa and started this new hobby.

If it does in fact take out more, it should be okay to mix one's own saltwater, I'd think. Seems like it'd be safer? I'll wait for some other's input.

Okay, dumb question number 19869: Is distilled water from the grocery stare the same as DI water? Can it be used in the tank?
