I am doing large water changes on other tank now but if it was in there it was in my filter and everything but I need my filter. I'm so lost. Do I just need to keep doing water changes?
I don't know what happened honestly but all my male fish died after moving them into their own aquarium! I cleaned a filter with a rag that was clean and put it on the tank to use as an extra filter with the filter I already had. Then the next day I turn my light on my tank in the morning and...
I really am still so clueless to how my fish are not dying with my ammonia that high. I might take two of my rules to my pet store and get them to test the ammonia in both my tanks and see if my test is just out. It isn't expired though. It expires 06/19
Thanks for the help from all of you! I will keep you posted on what is going on. I still need some advice on how I can raise the pH if my tap pH is low.
I usually do like 25-30% water changes weekly. I just did a 50% water change on both my tanks yesterday. And then technically my 10 gal got almost a full water change because I changed the water and put the filter back to work and it decided to leak out of it. So I had to clean up about 5...
I have removed a filter but it isn't a large filter. My dad used it for a large tank too though. I think it might have just been the filter. I went out yesterday and bought two new filters and have them both running on both of my tanks with the old filters for a few months. My water temperature...
Okay let me rephrase that, one fish had white spots. I treated the tank with all in one remedy. Fish with spots died. Second platy started hiding and sitting at bottom. It too, is now dead. All other fish are acting fine and no spots or anything.
I flush the filter with old tank water. I never run it under the tap. I don't understand why none of the fish seem poisoned. I clean the tank like once a week or if I have to once ever two weeks. It's a 50 gallon and I probably change about 25% of the water or more depending on how much I feel...
Yeah. I removed the filter that was on the tank for the least amount of time but it has enough to keep my small 10 gallon healthy. It has been off my tank for well over a month now so the filter I have should be building up more bacteria but it hasn't I guess. No fish are dying right now and...
He passed away. I believe it was a swim bladder problem. He wasn't being picked on but was the only platy in the tank. I had more but my tank broke out in disease and I treated it and the other died... So... Now I have no platies. Just guppies, 3 rosy tetras, and 6 glolight tetras.
I only had one fish with white spots. It died after I treated the tank with all in one. I didn't use any other medication. Just that. All my fish are fine now though. The one that was swimming funny I believe did have a swim bladder problem. I tried to save him but it was a loss. Tried peas...
What is going on? My aquarium stands at
Ammonia- 2.0ppm
Nitrite- 0.25ppm
Nitrite- 40ppm
Ph-6.4
My tank is cycled. It has been running for over a half of a year. I recently had to remove a filter to put babies in a separate aquarium but that was well over a month ago. I've been doing steady...
I wasn't necessarily saying they were mean. I was just saying it's probably not a good idea to put them in with male guppies since they have longer tails. I have guppies and I would love to put a beta in there to top it off but I would be scared there would be a slaughter
For your 10 gallon plan with the 10 guppies you wouldn't want to put platies in. I have one platy now. I started with more than that. But platies are larger than male guppies which means fewer fish in 10 gallons. And no fish can be in still water. They need oxygen too.
I love bettas. I wish I could put one in with my guppies. To me a betta is one of the prettiest small fish there is. And it's a shame they aren't nicer. I would put bettas everywhere If I could
Fish will still swim but most the time lays at the bottom of the tank. He flashes and still acts fine sometimes though. Is this a disease, infection, or something worse? I don't understand what is going on. Research is not helping me.
No its not a breed. I'm saying you'd need a miracle betta that isn't aggressive like most bettas. They aren't known to get along with other fish well. Some of them can, some of them can't ever. Just depends.
