I recently got a small 10 gallon tank that I plan on using for shrimp or for keeping me fish in before adding to my larger tank. I really like the look of having rock formations but know little to nothing about the topic. I've done just a little bit of googling and like the look of seiryu rock. Does anyone have any advice on this type or any other?
Will it mess with the water parameters?
Is it better to go for artificial rock ornaments instead?
And where do you recommend shopping for some?

I will always recommend shopping for rock at your nearest forest. Way more fun hunting for your own rocks. If that isn't up your ally, local landscaping supply stores are a good bet. Bring a spray bottle full of vinegar, spray onto rock, if it bubbles then it will most likely screw with your parameters. Even if it doesn't bubble, the best way is to either figure out what kind of rock it is, and ask for experience, or to place it in a pail of water, (after the water has sat and reached an equilibrium) test, wait a few days, test again and see if it changed anything.
