african cichlid tank size

what size do they need? all i have is a 20 gallon. can that work?

only for a couple of dwarves.... even then its not terribly adequate. there are shell cichlids that may do, called lamprologus ocellatus, very cute and a trio should do well with some shells in that size tank.

Maybe a electric yellow and kenyi cichlids.

i suppose..... singularly..... but that doesnt sound much fun?
if you had like a convict juvie and/ or another of the mentioned, then upgraded the tank as they matured, that would work. provided they had lots of caves/ rockery, they'r aggressive!

i would get schooling fish but i dont like small fish.

oops, just looked it up. yeaah, convicts wouldnt go with africans, so u may want a CA tank instead?

Yeah but then i changed my mind. I got 2 dwarf gouramis and 6 danios.
