Hi there,
I have a 38g tank that is currently in the midst of an ammonia spike and I'm freaking out!

My ammonia is reading at 1 almost 2ppm, ph is 7.8, and nitrites and nitrates are 0.

I have at least 8 fish in there and I'm really worried about them. I did a 50% water change two days ago and no change in the readings. I did another one today as well.

I use API Stress zymne and coat as well as quick start. Any other advice to help me get it down fast.
Cuz here's the topper, I am going away next Tuesday for almost a week and I don't want to come home to a tragedy!

Thank You!

Yikes, sounds like your tank isn't cycled.

You can do back to back 50% water changes until it's down to .25 ppm. As far as leaving for almost a week, with your tank not being cycled I feel like you maybe returning home to tragedy.

I agree. You need to reconsider leaving them for a week. It’s a responsibility you know? You can’t just leave them to die..
The tank is barely starting to cycle.
