Ammonia

So my levels are odd did a 50% pwc about 2 hours ago here are my levels ammonia.50 nitrites 0 nitrates 20 any ideas

Ammonia is toxic above .25 ppm for sure, I think another 50% water change is in order.

Ammonia from the tap?

You can easily treat those levels with Prime and see if your bio filter can take care of them.

Did another 50% pwc then I'm going to fast the tank tomorrow that should handle it

Ok so I got home tested the water my levels read
Ammonia.50
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10
So my water change did nothing going to do another but I dont understand I haven't feed them the tank is clean why still high... Also fish are doing fine no fast breathing or acting funny their all swimming around... One more thing aren't my plants suppose to help with filtering things like this out

Have you tested your tap water for ammonia?
