I was going over a dosing routine with a member on another forum, and he was asking what EI was. So I explained it in fairly simple terms, then his response was:

ok so sorta like rounding up... to make sure the tank isn't deficient in anything. I see now.

I never thought of it like that, but it's exactly what it is. Great way to explain it, short and simple.
