So I have a pair of chocolate gourami. It used to be that they stayed separate, one on one end of my 55 gallon aquarium, the other on the other side. The spot they're in now once belonged to the boisterous one of the two, who would always chase the other out.
Now, however, they refuse to leave each other's side, and the calmer one has moved in with the once boisterous one. They circle around, getting closer and closer. They do this several times. Now and then, the boisterous one follows the calmer one on a quest for food, or a gulp of air. He always stays behind her (?). Is this a mating thing?
Are my fish happy?
