Betta acting weird

My Betta is doing some pretty weird things. He will lie on the gravel and I think sleep for the majority of the day and then randomly, at least once every 24 hours, he'll get up, be energetic, eat his pellets and interact with me for 2 minutes, then go back. Is this just his personality or is something wrong?

It could be his personality... but it could also be an illness.

We need a little more information to help.
Tank size?
Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels?
Water change schedule?
How long have you had him?

Divided 20g long (so he has 10 gallons to himself), all levels fine (I've used Freshwater Master Test Kit for yeeears now) and I've had him for almost two weeks.

I change 10% every week since he is the only fish and I have a 30 gallon filter on it.
