Accidentally left a pack of blood worms out last night put it back in the freezer this morning. Should I just treat this like rancid meat and throw it away?

And they are in the trash. I figured that was the right move but I wanted to get some more opinions. Also has anyone heard that they wont be importing blood worms To California for awhile till they do some tests. Has anyone else heard this.
