Blue fish got attacked & injured by big cichlid - Help!!

My friends have a smaller blue cichlid that was attacked by one of their bigger cichlids. They have them in a 95 gal tank and right now they are leaving the little blue in there and doctoring with Melafix (?) because they are afraid moving him might stress him too much. They took pictures. The first day his lip looked white and now, the 2nd day, it looks worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Little Blue is their favorite!!

Are they sure it's do to a fight and not a bacteria? If it was a fight it was some serious lip locking. It happens. Nothing you can do other then re home one or the other.

They are pretty sure it was a fight. The other fish has attacked other fish before. He's kind of a problem child. They've already put the problem fish in another tank but they were wandering if there was something more they need to do for the hurt fish. They want to make sure he's not in pain if there is something they can do to help.

It's just gonna take time to heal. I've had plenty of wounded solders.
