Today I've noticed there are a lot of bubbles coming from the gravel, this is very unusual and is something which people normally only see when setting up for the first time when air is trapped. I haven't made any changes or done anything to cause the bubbles except use Tetra NitrateMinus yesterday. Is this the cause of the bubble, and if so, why?

It is probably anaerobic bacteria. How deep is your gravel and how do you clean it?

Is that good or bad?

Roughly 1 inch, and is cleaned weekly with a vac.

I've seen carbon that aerates your tank in case of an extended power outage. Looks just like gravel. What color is your gravel?

MTS can help aerate your substrate and prevent that from happening.

Oh they are all through my gravel. I did a substrate change recently and it was tedious.
