What is the smallest tank size that you can keep a clown loach in?

Well, loaches are happier in small groups so you really ought to have at least three. Clown loaches get 12" long. So, the short answer is that they are really for very large tanks but, like the common pleco and goldfish, folks often put them in a small tank not realizing how large they get. IMO, unless your gallonage is in the triple digits, choose a smaller species of loach.

BTW, Cory cats are great little fish -- very active and playful. I'd choose six of them over a single clown loach any day.
