Is it possible for a jack Dempsey and gourami to be confused and try to mate with one another

It's possible, but not likely. Better question would be whether they should be together to try. >.>

Initially jack would only push him around when it came feeding time and ignored him otherwise.... Now jack stays in his cave all day doesn't even come out to eat and the gourami is always next to him now and sometimes just lays on top of him... Jack has been acting strange for over a month
