I have a 55g tank:
3 dwarf puffers
3 neon tetras
2 bk tetras
2 common plecos
2 albino baby plecos
1 rubberlipped pleco
1 glowlight tetra
2 baby cories
3 MTS
(all are pretty small)
well over the past few days I have had 3 fish die (2 neons and 2 bk tetras) water parameters were good, no ammonia. no nitrites, very low nitrates
well this morning I notice my albino pleco upside down, i scooped him up and put him in some fresh water put he sadly passed anyway. well I grabbed my tests and did the nirtrate 1st (no idea why I did that 1st) well it was crazy high, I did a 75% water change but why do you think the nitrate spiked so high all of a sudden, the past few days have been fine(I test everyday) thanks!
