Thanks CMOS. I am showing 0ppm from the tap sample. Is it alright to let the nitrates get higher than 40ppm as long as there is no fish or should I wc anyhow?. I don't mind wc's.

Your don't even need to concern yourself with the Nitrates for now. It's fine right where it is.
