I was just turned on to a new product (for me) by my LFS. I have been battling cynobacteria problems for a while with little result. Yesterday morning I tried using Chemi-Clean by Boyd Enterprises, INC. My LFS had good success with it so I tried it. By today almost all of my red algea is gone! I will let it circulate for another day then do a water change tomorrow. Seems to work a lot better then any other prodcut or technique I have tried. Anyone else ever use this?

I have heard of it. It was to be a last resort for me though. Does not address the cause of the cyano but does kill it.

I am not a big "band-aid" treatment guy but at this point I was willing to try anything. I took out my Phosguard, GAC and turned off my skimmer for the treatment. If it continues to work well, I may just incoorperate it into my monthly water changes.
