I bought a male/female dalmatian molly pair, about 3 weeks ago. My 20 gallon tank has 8 mollys and 2 platys. I noticed the male dalmatian molly would mate with the other balloon mollys and leave the dal. female alone. So just today, I have noticed the female dal. molly has squared around the belly, indicating she is carrying fry. I noticed now the male dal. molly won't leave her alone, and it reminds me how the guppy males do the same and stress out the female to the point of killing her. I really don't want to invest in another female dal. molly because I don't think I like them, and I more interested in the balloon mollys, but I hate how the male is chasing her like crazy. Do you think he will stress her to death?
