I was changing the water in my 10 gallon tank when one of my glow in the dark tetra was sucked up in the siphon. Since then, the fish has been swimming sideways. He can swim correctly and is still eating. It has been 24 hours since the accident. Can his gill heal, or will he die? :(

Hi, welcome - how is your fish doing now?

I've done that and the fish lost some scales, still lived a long time after.

He seems to be doing better! He's eating and still swimming a little sideways, but he still hanging in! Thanks for your response.

I accidently did the same thing to a tiger barb once. He swam sideways for about 3 days. Recovered. Lived for about 2 years after the incident.
