dKH to high

my dKH is around 17 ... what is the best way to lower it without stressing the tank ... the ph is 8.3.

I always do PWC`s when I want to get things back to normal.

I tested every day since this week and it remains 17 dKH ... I did a 20% water change last sunday 6 days ago.

What kind of salt and test kit are you using?

Instant Ocean and the Salifert test kit.

Instant Ocean salt contains approx. 9.8 dKH at 1.25 SG IME. If your using any additives I would stop. Any idea how it got so high?
A few 15-20% PWC's w/ good saltwater should bring it down safely.

If you maintain a high calcium level your dKH level will gradually decrease. Maintain your calcium at around 450-460 and your dKH will come down.
