I recently switched from gravel to smooth river pebbles. Do I need to vacuum more often since the substrate is less compact than gravel? Is it possible I just notice things more because I went from Aqua-colored gravel to sand-colored pebbles? They are not super tiny pebbles, perhaps 1/6 to 1/4 inch in size at the most. Thanks, I appreciate the input.

Because there is more chance for uneaten food to get in to crevices, I would say yes, just more of a clean would be good when you do your WC.........

I am not sure that you need to do it more often but you may need to do it more thoroughly to make sure you get the uneaten food out.
