don’t know what to do

i just got a new tank today and added some salvinia to try grow some before putting fish in but the filter is just kicking it around and i don’t know what do, will it still grow? or should i get some more to help it along a little bit it was only one of those small 1 2 grow things from pets at home which seem useless as it’s so little but the filter just pushing it underwater it’s coming back up but will it not grow and just die? i’ll get more if i need to just wanna check first, and should i even get more or should i just scrap the idea i’ll be getting some java fern to try root to my mopani wood in the tank so there will be live plants if that goes well just need some general advice about live plants tbh i’ve never done it before but want a better environment for my fish
