Have a 55gal that only had 7 long finned danios. One recently died of old age and was a transfer from another tank. The tank was 4 and 1/2 months old and I decided to add 6 green tiger barbs. They were fine for a few days then they developed popeye and all the tiger barbs died. I was fanatic when I noticed it. I have been checking the water parameters every day since adding the new barbs and nothing has been out of sorts except ammonia levels were going up. I expected this from the added bio load and the BB needing time to expand. I did proportional PWC each day. Ammo never went above .50 ppm.

Now I am down to 4 danios. Their eyes never popped out so I'm not sure what has killed everything. What should I do? I am dosing the tank with melafix and doing PWC daily.

Due to a mix up we did not qt the fish first. **** it's a hard lesson to learn.
