Just want to confirm a fairly obvious condition my fan tails are experiencing.
I've seen a long, thin, white mucus-like feces trailing from one of my fan tail gold fish. The fish's body is about 4.5" nose to anus, and this trailing white feces was just about as long as her body.
I treated this a few months ago using the recommended dose of PraziPro (1-1/2 teaspoon for a 3 gallon tank). Now, it appears to have returned.
1: What is this parasite/condition called? Where might it/they come from?
2: is PraziPro (oxybispropanol) and <5% praziquantel the best known treatment for this parasite?
You can see the trailing feces in this picture.
Thank you to anyone who can answer any of these questions!
