feather duster feeding

I got a feather duster about 2 weeks ago. I noticed he has become "droopy" (not flowered out as much). I haven't been feeding him anything. Should I be? My local fish store has marinesnow plankton diet. Should I try this? I read you must turn off chemical filtration and protein skimming but should have good water movement when feeding. Should I use a powerhead? I have a maxi-jet 1200. Should this do the trick?

Featherdusters are filter feeders and need no suppliments. Just make sure you have good water quality, arent running a UV sterilizer, and have them in ambient water flow. Feather dusters are, by far, one of the easiest animals (not corals) to keep. Just give him a little time.

I was considering adding a feather duster, but I use a UV. Am I putting my system at more risk than it's worth by disconnecting the UV to have a feather duster?
