Started fishless cycle 3 days ago and just saw my first drop in ammonia( fell from 4 to 2ppm). I used filter media from my other tank to seed the new tank, so my question is this... Would it be beneficial to add more media now to introduce new bacteria to convert the nitrite? Are the bb that convert nitrite that were in the original media still alive? I guess my question boils down to this, would it help to introduce new seeding filter media at different points of a fishless cycle? Any thoughts?

It would help finish the job sooner if you added more. I'm positive all the bacteria from the original media is alive. If not you would have a lot of DOA fish in the other tank.
