I started my fishless cycle last night. My ammonia is around 3-4ppm. Hard to tell the colours look really similar to me. Came home from work today and the water is so cloudy you can hardly see inside the tank. Is this normal? I have the heat up pretty high and I put some stones and shells in from my other tank that is almost done it's cycle. I figured at least they have the ammonia eating bacteria on them. Anyway, this cloudy water is freaking me out. Did I do something wrong? Thanks! :)

I just noticed some white flowing mossy looking stuff all over my thermometer. I used the thermometer from my other almost cycled tank. What is this stuff?
