I followed eco23's guide to fishless cycling which worked extremely well.

I have a question about the carbon filter that came with my Fluval Edge. Now the tank is fully cycled and with fish now living in it, am I best to re-fit the carbon insert to the HOB filter? I'm not exactly sure what benefit it is!

If the answer to that is no, as there is space in the filter, could I substitute the carbon for an extra biomass filter?
