Fluval Spec Tank Series Question

Whatever you do, make sure you get the correct sized heater for the tank!

I have seen that mistake before. Most Fluvial spec series tanks are small which is fine for Betta but means you can "cook" the water with the wrong sized heaters.

I personally like hiding the heater within the flirtation media (if it will fit) but you don't want it touching the plastic (or filter stuff). So I doubt there will be enough space to do this in the spec series.

Since I hate seeing the mechanics of the tank (filters, thermometers etc) I would try to put the heater to one side of the tank and plant a live plant in front of it (one that will grow to cover it). If you are going silk plants then I would just buy one tall enough to mask it.

Yes a 25w heater will fit perfect in the space above the pump. Here is a picture of the heater I'm using in my spec V.

Can you post your tank? I am thinking about that tank versus getting a third Chi! LOL
