I purchased a 75 gal off of CL a few months ago and have found the bulkhead is siliconed on. I cant twist it off. Anybody have other Ideas besides throwing the tank away. Would surly appreciate it.
Thanks

You could try using a heat gun to heat silicone until it is soft enough to pull it off. Although this idea is probable a little risky, (the bulkhead may melt with the silicone) Another idea is to use a razor blade and slowly shave the silicone off the glass. One warning tho if the tank is made of acrylic both of these methods will ruin the tank.

I don't think you can melt silicone. It can withstand a temp of around 500F. There is a solvent that can dissolve silicone.I am going to guess that the silicone was put on the threads. Regardless, you should be able to unscrew it; you aren't applying enough force.
