Hob refugium light question...

So I have a hob refugium (half gallon) and I was wondering when I should turn the lights on and off to it. Is it best 12 on 12 off? And should I leave them on at night and off in the say or?? I've just been turning it on and off with the display tank.

Hello Paul it's better to run your fuge lights opposite your tank lights. This will help with any ph swings .

Lights tend to increase/keep the pH and temp of water higher. When fuge lights are run opposite the main lights, you get the benefits of a fuge light without adding more heat etc to your tank compared to if you had run them at the same time as your main lights.
