Don't change it until its literally falling apart in your hands. Even them save some media and put it in the filter to help seed the new media.
I'm not familiar with those filters but if the media has activated carbon in it, i would cut it out and just use the foam/floss and follow convicts advice, use it until it falls apart. Just rinse it in some tank water when doing maintenance.
