How to fix loose trim

I just bought a used 55g tank off Craigslist. My issue is that the bottom black bendable trim that goes around the tank is loose in about a 3 to 4 inch section. Will that affect the integrity of the tank? Can I reattach it with silicone? I have it filled and sitting on my deck to see if it leaks and so far so good.

No, the black plastic trim around the bottom doesn't really affect the integrity of the tank in any major way. It does help keep the glass from getting damaged if it gets bumped or whatever though. I've used silicone to replace them in the past, it works just fine.
