I lost my goldfish.

She didn't die, she's GONE.
Well, I mean, she's probably dead at this point. Whatever happened. But she just wasn't in her tank today. And the only other fish is an otocinclus half her size. I checked every part of the tank: under plants, in the filter, behind the heater. She just disappeared.
The tank lid is really heavy so my kitten couldn't have opened it and my fish couldn't have jumped out. So.... what happened to her??
 
Sorry for your loss.

Gold fish are good jumpers. If there is any opening around filters or heater cords, it is likely that it jumped out. Have you looked around the tank? If its not in the floor around your tank, that kitty of yours may have found it first.
 
Alas, my dad found her deep in the filter while I was in school. I have no idea how she got in there because she's chubby and round and the filter opening is thin and rectangular, but she did it.

Thanks for the sympathies, guys. I needed that, from someone who understands.
