Run an aquarium with minimal water changes?
Just wondering if you could get the right balance of nitrogen levels and things that kept it under control. Lots of plants feeders cleaners bacteria snails shrimps ect?
Just an thought I had.

perhaps a large, low-light tank, with 1-2 small fish, heavely planted...
you would have to balance out the wast the fish produce exactly equal to the nutrients that the plants take in... sounds like a lot more work then just doing a pwc to me :? :D

I believe in doing pwc's regularily. Even with plants etc you still have to change the water as in the wild water is constantly being changed.

no you cant do it. waste grows daily, but if water doesnt get changed when it should, the waste to clean water ratio goes unbalanced

That is what I was thinking. I have no intention of not doing pwc.
I was just wondering if you could do it that is all.
Guess i was thinking outloud. lol
