I bought a jungle val about 2 weeks ago and all seemed well but the new leaves are growing in red? Is this a sign of a deficiency or is it normal? Also the old leaves are pretty wonky and torn up should I leave them alone or trim them off? Tank is low light no c02 or ferts yet.

I've googled a bit and that seems to be the common answer but why are the old leaves green though if its a red variety?

Mine gets the red hue the closer it gets to the light or as a new shoot begins to grow. When it gets roots established give them a trim on the top and they will send lots of runners. I don't know the why, sorry

As much as I love red plants this is one I wanted all green! Lol! When should I see it start sending runners? I can see where it had one but it was trimmed off before I bought it sadly.
