So I get back from a great honeymoon/vacation, and of course the first thing i do is check my tank.
For the most part, everything is alright. Sadly, my 4 female bettas which I just recently added, and 9 out of 10 neon tetras died.
I noticed the dead fish, and stuck my net in to take them out and found the culprit. For whatever reason the heater in my canister filter has malfunctioned and instead of keeping my tank at 77/78 degrees where its been, the tank water was at 94. The thermometer was reading my tank water as -0.7 and was trying to heat it.
I cant believe, and am extremely happy that none of the rest died.
I guess the silver lining is that in 'fishing' out the dead ones i found 2 more molly fry!
