Lighting Time
Hello pro...
Most of the plants you get at the pet store are tropical, so are used to long hours of daylight. I keep my tank lighting on a timer. I set it for 12 hours on and 12 off. Any time between 10 to 14 hours per day will work.

12 hours may be a little bit long unless you have some for of co2 being added... I'd say go with eight hours to play it safe. It's not about the plants needing long hours of sunlight, they are all farm raised and will do great with 8 hours. Also with 12 hours algae would most likley sart growing pretty fast unless you have a goo fert dosing regime.
