i recently bought close to 4kilos of live rock and had left it overnight in the tank and when i woke up i found this (photo is attached) moving around in the sand bed?? what is it??? is it good for my tank??
help ???
it s about 1 inch big

Looks like a brittle star fish maybe, need a better pic though. Some brittle stars aren't reef safe. Some are good to have.
 
the thing burrowed itself under the sand i cant see it anymore!!!! OMG!!!
 
I have over thirty of them in my reef they all came in on rock except the one I bought. Most are reef safe. I've never had a problem with them and IMO they are excellent cleaners
 
Yeah it looks like a mini brittle star. Harmless, reef safe, and good CUC member. Don't get rid of it.
