I got some Manzanita from near my house and it would really be awesome in my tank. Now im soaking the two pieces in warm water for about 2 weeks or so.

Should I be aware of anything else besides soaking for prep?

Heres the wood:

Anyone? Looking to put it in week after next. Currently have it soaking.

Manzanita is really hard and oily. I'd love to use it too but think that it is going to take a lot of treatment to make it usable.

Hope it can be done and someone can enlighten on this. I'll be watching.

Good luck.

What about soaking or boiling? I'll tell ya I bought a $80 piece of driftwood that till this day I'd not sinking! I think I got that PIMA wood! Never again.
