I was just wondering what moss balls are for and how do they help a tank that has 2 turtles, a pleco, and a few goldfish?

Moss balls are a type of algae. They help to remove built up organic compounds in the water that can harm your fish, such as nitrates.

Moss balls are a type of algae. They help to remove built up organic compounds in the water that can harm your fish, such as nitrates.
True however they are such slow growers that the difference in nitrates and other organic compounds may not even be noticeable.
