I had to restart my well established tank. I made a dumb mistake. I had a betta fish pet dying( had him 2.5 years) and I was soo nervous to euthanize with clove oil ( which was a peaceful death) I didn’t think things through. I had the snails in a hospital tank for treatments I was trying for him for a few weeks anyway. Long story short, I ruined the sand and filter. Idk why I didn’t remove the filter, I was frazzled. Anyway, I have the tank re set up again so it’s going to have a snail in cycle. How can I help my snails through this? Daily water changes? I’ve been adding nitrifying bacteria daily and I’m on day 4. I haven’t tested yet. Changed the water today and will test tomorrow. Prime and the bacteria I have say they remove ammonia and nitrates. Will that help if I add daily? It’s a 20 gallon tank with Java fern, anabus and I'm going to add some frogbit .
